Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year falls on different dates each year, but it does always fall between January 21 and February 21

The Chinese New Year is celebrated on the 12th February this year.

This year it is the year of the OX  (1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021, 2033)

There are 12 signs of the Chinese zodiac similar to our Zodiac.

The Chinese use animals to represent their 12 signs. (or sheng xiao, translating to “born + resemblance”); in order, they’re the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat (or Sheep), Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig

In Mandarin Chinese, it means wishing you prosperity, or Happy New Year.

According to Asian folklore, people born in the Year of the Ox are strong, reliable, fair and conscientious, inspiring confidence in others.
